Sometimes everything seems just right. Les Marguerites in the idyllically peaceful village of Alet les Bains with its ruined priory, is the perfect setting for a break that offers beauty and calm by the rushing river Aude.

This place is consistently excellent and now like coming home, from the deliciously comfortable beds and beautiful rooms, to the wonderful food and hospitality of Antoinette and Keith. There are so many places to visit and this time we visited the market in Esperaza and the Gorge de Galamus. The area has so much to offer and seeing it in Autumn with the changing colours in the vinyards for the first time was stunning.

Antoinette & Keith are the heart of this wonderfully restored 200-year old mansion, make no doubt about it! They are by far the warmest hosts you'll ever find. Thank you both for creating this warm, loving environment for us! Loved my room, loved the location, loved your family, loved your meals (both food & company!), loved all of it!! It was magical in ways that cannot ever be forgotten.

The breakfast had *the* best croissants and pastries that I had in five weeks in France, delicious, flaky, buttery wonders. And there are huge pots of Yorkshire tea, to completely unwind. I booked for two nights and ended up staying 12, as it was such a joy to stay at this relaxing haven.

My recent stay at les Marguerites was one of the best traveling experiences I've ever had. Antoinette, Keith, their children and animals are the most gracious of hosts. The house is charming and the rooms are spacious and very clean. Antoinette goes out of her way to accommodate all of her guests. I'm sure I will be back!

Les Marguerites is a perfect backdrop and home base for an intimate spiritual retreat in the heart of the Magdalene sacred sites. Antoinette, Keith and family open their hearts to all that come and create a deeply nourishing environment for the powerful inner transformation of a sojourn of this nature. The food is delicious, rooms spacious, and the garden and house are a beautiful environment for meditation and circles.

It’s difficult to think of enough superlatives for Les Marguerites! Entering the house for the first time with my group, we were so lovingly welcomed by Antoinette and Keith that it felt more like a joyful homecoming than just walking into a pretty B&B. A mouth-watering aroma floated in from the kitchen and soon we were happily treated to Antoinette’s considerable cooking abilities. Every room was beautifully appointed and all my travelers couldn’t have been more delighted with the house, gardens and food. Beyond the above-standard accommodations, however, was the incredible care, attention, flexibility and good humor of Antoinette and Keith, who guided and assisted us in multiple ways with their willingness to support our experience of the area. At the end of our time there, none of us wanted to leave! I take people all over the world and nothing compares to the petite Shangri-La that Les Marguerites is!

The first sensation that you have when arriving at Les Marguerites is that it is a house that exudes the love. Antoinette welcomes you with her love hug and makes you feel right at home. With Keith and their beautiful children, they create a perfect team, one that connects at many levels with my groups. Every time that I bring my groups to Rennes-le-Château and the area, during the experiences of consciousness in the name of Mary Magdalene, I always choose Les Marguerites. The place is immersed in nature, the secular trees speak about the history of Alet-les-Bains and the entire house gives away what Antoinette and her family are all about – love, happiness and a burning desire to make your trip memorable. I am really in love with this place.

I live in Finland and I have stayed alone and with groups very many times, again and again at Les Marguerites. The place and the house with its atmosphere is unique and special. The owners Antoinette and Keith are heartful and lovely people. They make everything about your journey in this spiritual area of the Languedoc as perfect and enjoyable as possible. Antoinette is such a great cook and you can enjoy healthy and tasteful food during your stay. I can recommend Les Marguerites from my heart to everybody. Wendy Batchelor - Walkabouts with Wendy I have had the pleasure and privilege of staying with my groups at Les Marguerites in Alets les Bains on several occasions. The ambience and charm of this beautiful old chambres d’hote is so welcoming - a ‘home away from home’ at the end of a full day’s exploring the historic and magical region of the Languedoc. Antoinette and Keith provide a tranquil and caring environment – the welcome glass of bubbly ‘blanquette’ followed by a superb evening meal in the garden or in their cosy restaurant is a delight; breakfasts and chats around the dining table whilst making new friends from far and wide; picnics provided if needed; restful bedrooms and comfy beds for a great nights sleep all make up an enjoyable time spent with them. Antoinette and Keith are special people and I love taking my groups to Les Marguerites because I know that they will be well cared for. This is a special place in a special town – the waters, the river, the ancient stone bridge, the ancient church and its history, so close to the Pyrenees, Carcassonne and its magical castle, Rennes les Chateau with its church of mystery, Esperaza with its wonderful Sunday markets, Limoux and its cafes on the Square. I have no hesitation in recommending a stay at Les Marguerites – a magical time that stays with you forever, and for which I am forever grateful.

The term 'French fairy tale’ gets bandied about quite a lot these days, especially when it comes to wedding venue taglines and targeted advertising… but with Les Marguerites, I can safely say (along with a rejoicing 80 wedding guests) that the title is more than deserved, and so very genuine. The sheer charm and natural beauty of the setting coupled with the rustic majesty of the house and gardens is enough to make you think you’ve stepped back in time, Proust-style, or through the silver screen into a bygone era of cinematic French escapism. And all this is down to the dreams, creativity, dogged hard work and care of the hosts, Antoinette, Keith and their wonderful family. Our wedding at Les Marguerites this past September was made all the more special by their positivity, can-do attitudes, adaptability and joy. And I haven’t even mentioned the food – Oh, THE FOOD! It was a banquet feast of chef Antoinette’s sumptuous creations, all from locally-sourced organic ingredients, with her trademark middle-eastern-inspired twists. I’m salivating just thinking back. Several of our guests had the pleasure of staying in the house itself, a 19th Century villa that has been lovingly and sympathetically restored by the hosts, and every one of them felt so looked-after, comfortable, and welcomed into the stylish, spotless and elegant accommodation – the new pool being a real plus. I could go on for pages and pages, but I will end just by saying – thank you. Antoinette, Keith, and family – we will never forget this magical day, or your kindness, patience (!), grace and sense of fun. It was everything we wanted, and so much more. Do not miss this gem of a place on your Carcassonne/Limoux/Languedoc travels!

On 4th September 2021 Antoinette and Keith and their family hosted the most fantastic wedding reception at Les Marguerites for our daughter Erica and son in law Cameron. Many guests stayed in this charming private hotel with its new outdoor heated pool and availed of the superb facilities. All our guests at the wedding waxed lyrical at the ambience, the gourmet dining and the top class service from the entire family. No request was too much trouble and the outdoor sunny garden was a fabulous backdrop for the wedding banquet which continued to the wee small hours. The following day we had a second sumptuous luncheon feast dining alfresco for over 100 guests. It truly was the romantic wedding of the decade and a weekend to cherish for ever. Thank you Antoinette and Keith!

A most delightful place. We were there to photograph the wedding of an English couple, the service being held in nearby Limoux, and the reception at Les Marguerites. Quintessentially English in a very French setting and style - superb. The service was low-key but perfect, the food wonderful - nothing over the top, just gentle, well prepared and presented. We stayed the night in a wonderful room, very French, and relished the breakfast of fresh sun warmed fruit, pastries, bread and scrambled eggs. We hope to go again.
