Keith and Antoinette, your hosts, have held small intimate weddings at Les Marguerites. We will work with you to create an intimate and personalised wedding, one that you and your family can relax and enjoy over a few days. The wedding will be created to your own personal taste. We don’t believe in having a set package, we believe in listening to you to help us to create your own special day - all within your budget.

You will have exclusive use of the house, the swimming pool, the barn and the gardens for your stay giving you the opportunity to share time and other activities with your family and friends at times to suit you. If you would like to arrange activities for your guests these can be arranged at Les Marguerites or we can organise special outings. We have provided some examples below. It is also possible to simply rent the facilities and create your own wedding.

During the summer months it is perfect for dining outside in our beautiful gardens under the boughs of the ancient trees and during the cooler months we can host people in our marquee or in our converted barn.

ACCOMMODATION

There is luxury accommodation for the bride and groom in the wedding suite as well as 3 other luxury double rooms, (this will be increased to 6 for 2023) including a family suite, for close family and friends. Other accommodation is available in the village and Antoinette will be happy to make all the necessary arrangements.

Les Marguerites is an award winning chambre d’hote nestling on the outskirts of the mediaeval village of Alet Les Bains on the banks of the river Aude. It is a place of outstanding beauty set in wonderful gardens with old trees that provide excellent shade in the summer and with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. It has its own restaurant with its own beautiful garden.

SERVICES

Civil Wedding / Religious Blessing

We can help you organise a French civil wedding with our Mayor, we can liaise with the ‘Marie’ and guide you through the paperwork.
Alternatively, why not do the legal bit in your country of residence and then enjoy a religious blessing in our gardens; we have an Anglican Priest in the village who can preside over the blessing for you.

Photography

We can arrange for photography or video of the wedding.

Entertainment

We can arrange most types of entertainment for the main night and have a selection of alternatives to suit all tastes. Dancing can be in the garden or if you would prefer inside.

Dietary requirements

We can cater for most dietary requirements and look forward to discussing them with you.

EXPERIENCES

It’s your special trip – you choose your experience!

We have provided a taster of some of the things that you could include in your break either for you or your guests. Some of these may take place at Les Marguerites – others you may want to take a trip out. You may want to offer different choices at the same time depending on people’s preferences. You can pay for the activities or we can provide guests with a price per person for taking part. We can arrange all group transport.

Wine Tour to a selection of vineyards with a lunch included
Wine tour to one special vineyard with a meal at an excellent local restaurant
Wine tasting in the garden with an expert presenting a selection of excellent local wines including Blanquette the local bubbles.
Trip to Carcassonne, the world-famous walled city and UNESCO site with a selection of restaurants recommended for people to do their own thing
A boat trip on the Canal du Midi and lunch at a canal side restaurant.
A trip to Rennes Le Chateau to learn more about the Di Vinci mystery.
A visit to one of the Cathar castles such as Montsegur or Peyrepertuse.
A range of outdoor activities from gentle walks to white river rafting depending on the time of year.

TRAVEL

Many airlines fly into Toulouse (1.5 hours away)
Ryan Air fly to Carcassonne from the UK (30 mins away)
There are other local airports such as Perpignan and Bezier (1.5 hours away)

We would be happy to arrange group airport pick-up’s / drop-off’s – please enquire with Antoinette for prices.
Car hire / taxis are available at all these airports and you can get to Limoux by train from Toulouse (change at Carcassonne).
Please ensure you make your bookings before you arrive.

If you arrive by train at Limoux we will pick you off and drop you off with no cost.
Please ensure that you arrange your own travel insurance to avoid any unforeseeable problems.

TERMS

There is a 40% none-refundable deposit which secures your booking for accommodation at Les Marguerites, the wedding and any activities that have been arranged through Les Marguerites. All other separately arranged accommodation will be paid for individually by the guests - similar deposits will be required.

Payment in full will be required 2 months before your arrival. If at this point you decide to cancel your trip then you will lose the full amount unless for reasons of Covid.

Covid

If for reasons of Covid, your flights are cancelled, or you are unable to make the trip then we will make a full a refund less any administration/capital costs that have been incurred specific to your wedding arrangements.
